Leeds United transfers: Ollie Tanner future update emerges
Cardiff City manager Omer Riza admits that Leeds United target Ollie Tanner will not be leaving in the current transfer window.
The Whites are understood to be keen on signing the 22-year-old winger, with leedsunited.news quoting Riza speaking about his future.
Thus far, Leeds are yet to make a first-team signing and Daniel Farke has not yet ruled out the possibility of a new arrival.
When asked if Tanner will be leaving, Riza said: “No. Ollie’s a young lad, he’s one of ours and he’s doing really well. We need him, like we need all the other players in our team, and he’s doing well.
“He’s focused on doing his job at Cardiff and that’s it, really.”
Leeds United need to consider alternative transfer targets
Tanner would be an excellent signing for Leeds due to his versatility and current form in the Championship.
At just 22, he has shown the capability to play across the wings and even as a number 10, bringing flexibility to the squad.
His performances for Cardiff have been notable, contributing with goals and assists, which demonstrates his potential to impact games at a higher level.
However, with Cardiff boss Riza firmly stating that the Englishman will not be leaving in this transfer window, Leeds must pivot.
The club need to explore other talents in the market who could fit into Farke’s tactical setup.

Given Whites’ position at the top of the Championship, reinforcing the squad with the right players is crucial for their promotion push.
