Leeds United transfer reveal that proves 49ers still have more than £50m to spend
Leeds United have attacked the summer with a completely different transfer strategy.
After promotion to the Premier League, Daniel Farke targeted power, height and physicality
That saw 10 new faces come through the door, with Anton Stach the most expensive and no deals passing £20million.
Survival in the Premier League has seen Leeds go up a level.
Adding to that squad, the Whites have only made three new signings, but all are genuine upgrades.
Harry Wilson was first in a marquee free transfer, but then, Tarik Muharemovic and James Trafford have signed for a combined £75million.
Despite that, the door is open to so much more.
What is Leeds' net spend this summer?
In general, Premier League clubs not in the big six usually have an annual budget of £100m.
That is due to the revenue on offer from the Premier League and broadcasting deals.
So, Leeds fans will be delighted to find out that their net spend only currently sits at £43m.
The Athletic have investigated the figures so far this summer, with Farke's men seventh best in the Premier League.
So, going off the average budgets, Leeds could have around £60m more to spend before the September 1 deadline.
How has Leeds United transfer change worked wonders?
For years, Leeds have been awful at selling players.
Except for one summer where Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips were sold, ultimately leading to relegation, they've never generated funds from sales.
That's changed, but for the better.
After two years of just agreeing to pointless loans, some down to contractual clauses, that's a thing of the past.
Jack Harrison, Max Wober, Isaac Schmidt, Joe Gelhardt and Pascal Struijk have been sold permanently.
That has seen Leeds raise £30m alone in sales, for players who didn't seem to be in their plans again.
Joel Piroe and Lucas Perri are now set to join West Ham and Torino on loan, with the striker having a £15m obligation attached.
That would be serious profit and business for Leeds, but they'd need the Hammers to be promoted.
Add Largie Ramazani and Sebastiaan Bornauw to the exit list too, and the 49ers could have more than £60m to spend.
This could be a huge final two weeks of the window to come.
