Leeds United transfer news as 49ers Enterprises to get aggressive
New Leeds United owners 49ers Enterprises have laid out an aggressive budget ahead of the new Championship season with the squad needing plenty of attention, according to Leeds Live.
49ers Enterprises are set to spend big this summer, with a transfer budget labelled as the kind of money that will make the team very competitive in the Championship, at least on paper, as Leeds United look to bounce straight back up to the Premier League.
With plenty of outgoing players expected, the new ownership will have a big job on their hands as they look to not only plug some huge gaps but also build the type of strength in depth that will be required to get through the busy periods of the season.

Outgoing players will leave the squad with even bigger holes. Robin Koch has left and Diego Llorente looks set to follow, leaving the club with a lack of central defenders. If Junior Firpo leaves, they will have just one senior left-back, while Marc Roca’s departure and Adam Forshaw’s unsigned contract leave them light in midfield.
The 49ers have a huge job to do
Having been linked to moves for Nat Phillips [The Athletic, 27 June] and Karl Darlow [Yorkshire Evening Post, 4 July] already, the new owners will have to start making concrete moves quickly if they want to ensure their business gets done in this transfer window.

This Leeds squad has gaps that need plugging, and those gaps will continue to grow and spread as players are continually linked to moves away from the club, but will also need strong depth if they want to be competitive through the stage of the season where they will play at least two games per week.
Seeing players like Llorente, Firpo, Roca, as well as Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams constantly linked to moves away will be a further headache for ownership as each of these players will need replacing.
If the owners are willing to spend their full budget as they look to lead the club back to the Premier League, they’ll need to start getting deals over the line as soon as possible.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been linked to a midfield star who should be their top target this summer.
