Leeds United transfer chiefs like Hugo Bueno transfer in new guarantee update

Leeds United transfer chiefs like the idea of pursuing Wolves youngster Hugo Bueno but won’t guarantee starts, according to Yorkshire Evening Post.

The newspaper (5 August) has reported that Leeds will maintain their stance on Premier League loanees, meaning Bueno won’t be guaranteed starts purely because he’s leaving a top-flight side on loan.

This development comes hot on the heels of news that the 21-year-old is a new target for the club (Dave Azzopardi, 4 August).

Will Bueno consider Leeds United?

It’s already been suggested that Bueno would prefer a move to Celtic as opposed to Leeds [James Marshment].

Alas, even with that being the case, the club will still want to put their best foot forward. It makes sense that they wouldn’t want to hand a spot to anyone just for the sake of it, but it can come across as stand-offish in negotiations.

It is suggested that the ideology was one of the reasons why Fabio Carvalho didn’t wind up making a loan move to Elland Road last season.

For Bueno, he knows that he’s still got time to develop his game. With that being said, he’ll be hungry to find his footing from the word go after making just seven Premier League starts (FBref) for Wolves last season.

A player of his quality is bound to hit the ground running. Daniel Farke, meanwhile, is clearly willing to stick to his guns.

In other Leeds United, Georginio Rutter impressed as “impudent” footage emerged against Valencia.
