Leeds United to make Marc Roca announcement within days at Elland Road

Leeds United will wait until the end of June before announcing the sale of Marc Roca with a transfer to Real Betis moving close, according to The Athletic.

The online outlet has reported (25 June) that a permanent deal for the Spaniard is “progressing” after an initial loan spell last season.

He is set to become the first permanent departure of the summer from Elland Road and it looks set to go through once his loan has expired at the end of June.

Roca featured in just one Premier League season for the Whites before moving on loan to La Liga and he now looks set for a permanent switch.

Marc Roca set to leave Leeds United

The 27-year-old joined the club from Bayern Munich in 2022 and proved to be an excellent signing despite being relegated.

He performed well and caught the eye in the heart of midfield and was sure to leave after Championship football was confirmed.

Roca spent last season with Real Betis as they finished seventh in La Liga in a positive campaign for the Spaniard.

This has seen them look to bring him in permanently which is sure to benefit Leeds in the transfer window this summer.

It is frustrating that Daniel Farke’s side couldn’t secure promotion as he could have played a great role back in the Premier League.

Leeds United fans
Leeds fans do not like Chelsea.

With finances being potentially important to the Whites this summer, if they want to make new signings to boost their Championship chances.

A move for the Spaniard makes sense for all parties so it does make sense to secure funds if he doesn’t want to play at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign Canada star Liam Millar as a long-term contract update emerges.
