Leeds United target Charles De Ketelaere could leave Club Brugge in next 10 days
Leeds United and AC Milan are likely to battle each other for the signature of Club Brugge attacker Charles De Ketelaere, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The famous pink newspaper reported on their print edition on 7 July (page 5) that the young striker is likely to leave the Belgian club within the next ten days.
The Whites know that seven-time European Cup winner AC Milan are a bigger attraction, but they have come up with a very tempting offer.
Milan made an initial bid of £17m plus bonuses, which is nowhere near to Brugge’s asking price, and the Rossoneri need to improve their offer. There is a fear that other Premier League clubs might join the race, while with Leeds there is a good chance “it will go differently”.
It seems Leeds are leaving no stone unturned to land the 21-year-old attacker.
According to Il Messaggero, the Whites have made a bid worth a total of £34.1million to sign the forward, which shows how serious they are in landing him.
It also means that the Whites are offering a club-record deal to sign De Ketelaere.
This has been a remarkable transfer window for the Whites. In the last 24 hours, they have confirmed two signings – Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra – and now they’re aiming to land possibly their final signing of the summer.
Bolstering the forward department is key for Jesse Marsch, as the club cannot rely entirely on Patrick Bamford after what happened last season.
De Ketelaere is an exciting young talent and he would be a cracking addition to the squad.
The player appears to have set his heart on joining AC Milan, but Leeds are not giving up on him as yet.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign this English left-back as Orta continues to work his magic.
