Leeds United submit offer to sign Mason Cotcher as Sunderland fee development emerges
Leeds United have now made an offer to sign Sunderland sensation Mason Cotcher, according to Mike McGrath.
The Telegraph journalist reported on Thursday (4 April) that the 17-year-old is set to leave the Black Cats and has recently been on trial with the Whites.
He added that Daniel Farke’s side will need to pay their Championship rivals a fee to sign the England U-17 international to take on his registration.
Mason Cotcher could be future star for Leeds United
It appears as though Leeds have been impressed by Cotcher during his trial with the club after they have now submitted a bid to secure his services.
It’s so far unknown what kind of fee Sunderland will be looking for to release him from his contract given that he is a highly thought of talent.
The forward has been linked with a number of clubs over the past few months, having also spent time training with Arsenal earlier this season.
The Whites’ record for bringing players through and giving them a chance in the first team has perhaps persuaded the teenager that Elland Road could be the place for him to continue his development.
Although there is still some way to go before a deal is agreed, it looks as though there is a strong chance Cotcher will soon be signing on the dotted line in West Yorkshire.
