Leeds United strike agreement over goalkeeper exit as announcement made
Leeds United are still making transfer moves despite the winter window being closed.
Daniel Farke was reportedly content with Leeds’ transfer business this winter, despite Facundo Buonanotte being his only signing of the window.
Meanwhile, Besiktas have been linked with Lucas Perri and Illan Meslier, as the Turkish transfer window doesn’t close until Friday evening, so further activity could still be on the cards for Leeds.
Elland Road chiefs are already shifting focus to the summer window too, with Leeds reportedly lining up a £26million move for Dortmund’s Daniel Svensson.

Leeds United goalkeeper sees loan move extended
Leeds are renowned for their excellent academy system, and a host of their most highly-regarded young players have been allowed to leave on loan this season.
Harry Gray to Rotherham, Mateo Joseph to Mallorca and Charlie Crew to Doncaster have been some of those deals, whilst young goalkeeper Rory Mahady has also been spending time out on loan this term.
Mahady joined Scunthorpe United on loan last October, initially just to provide cover due to Scunthorpe’s Rory Watson being unable to play against his former side York City.
However, Mahady saw his loan move extended through to the end of January, having claimed the role of Scunthorpe’s starting goalkeeper.
So, Scunthorpe fans will be delighted to learn that Mahady has extended his loan deal with the National League outfit until the end of the season, as confirmed by Leeds and Scunthorpe in an announcement on Friday.
The Iron currently sit sixth in the National League, with a 10-point cushion inside the play-off places, and now 19-year-old Mahady looks set to play a huge role in their promotion push to League Two.

Leeds beat some strong competition to sign Mahady
A Scottish youth international, Mahady joined Leeds from Glaswegian giants Celtic in the summer of 2022.
Showing just how highly-rated he was/is, Leeds reportedly beat Man City and Spurs to Mahady’s signature, with the then-16-year-old wanted by some of English football’s biggest clubs.
Therefore, there will be many around Elland Road that still have very high hopes for the teenager, and he will surely be watching Leeds’ current goalkeeping situation with great intrigue.
Perri doesn’t appear to be the future number one that Leeds were hoping for, Meslier is sure to leave soon with his contract up in the summer, and neither one of Alex Cairns or Karl Darlow are long-term options either.
