Rory Mahady seen in Leeds United shirt as he confirms Celtic exit

Leeds United look to have beaten Spurs and Manchester City to sign goalkeeper Rory Mahady after he confirmed his Celtic exit recently.

The 16-year-old has been spotted wearing a blue-coloured Leeds shirt and has a pen in his hand as he looks to be penning a contract at the club.

Scottish Sun credited the Premier League trio to have an interest in him but Leeds now seem to have won the race to sign him as he also confirmed his exit on Instagram.

The Scotland under-17s goalkeeper wrote, “Today I have officially left Celtic.

“Just want to say a massive thank you to the players and staff for the last 9 years.

“It was a pleasure, wishing everyone the best of luck for the future.”

One for the future

Another highly-rated sensation moves to Thorp Arch and Leeds are doing a remarkable job at beating the competition to sign a wonderkid.

Hopefully, he goes on to have a good career at the club and does not look to leave permanently for first-team opportunities.

Leeds have their goalkeeping unit sorted for many years to come and it remains to be seen if Mahady lives up to his billing.

It’s certainly a massive coup to sign the teenager ahead of Spurs and City and he probably knows that Thorp Arch is the place for him to develop into a senior professional.

He was there at Celtic Park for almost a decade so it must’ve been emotional for him to part ways with his boyhood club.

However, it’s safe to say that he’s made a step up by moving south of the border and he’ll be well looked after by the coaches at Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have reached an agreement to sign a left-back, according to his agent.
