Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville sends message to Cole Palmer at Chelsea
Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville has responded to Cole Palmer’s Instagram post, adding fuel to the rumours linking the Dutchman with a summer move to Chelsea.
After Palmer posted on Instagram to commemorate netting his first goal for England in their 3-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina – a penalty on his full debut to open the scoring – Summerville commented with a pair of emojis to congratulate the Chelsea playmaker.
Summerville has no previous link with the England star, thus his decision to leave that comment could suggest that he is keen on playing alongside Palmer next season.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with signing Summerville from Leeds this summer after the Peacocks failed to be promoted to the Premier League, and are expected to initiate talks following the appointment of Enzo Maresca as their new manager [Simon Phillips].
Could Crysencio Summerville make Chelsea move from Leeds?
Leeds United are set for another transitional summer after their 1-0 loss to Southampton in the Championship play-off final, with player sales expected to maintain the club’s position within the EFL’s profit and sustainability parameters.
Summerville, who was marshalled superbly in the Wembley decider by Kyle Walker-Peters and made very little impact, is one player heavily tipped to make a move away from Elland Road.

The Championship’s Player of the Year award winner could command a fee as high as £40 million according to Fabrizio Romano, one Chelsea are more than capable of paying, and that would go some way towards alleviating the reported £100million the Whites will need to raise in player sales.
Chelsea are far from the only side Romano has linked with Summerville, while several other players have also been mooted for moves, including Archie Gray.
Palmer was a revelation in Chelsea’s attack last season, playing mostly off the right-hand side or centrally, and with Summerville having made the left flank his own for Leeds under Daniel Farke, he would have a fighting chance of doing the same at Stamford Bridge.
