Leeds United resigned to fact Kalvin Phillips will quit Elland Road amid Manchester United pursuit
Leeds United are “resigned to the” fact that Kalvin Phillips will eventually quit Elland Road, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The newspaper reports that Phillips, 26, is set to switch agents “with the intention of securing a transfer” amid interest from Manchester United, West Ham and Aston Villa.
It is understood that despite Phillips’ affinity with Leeds, Man United are eyeing up the England midfielder knowing that they’ve been able to lure players from Elland Road in the past.

The MEN adds that Leeds and Man United have been in touch with one another over the last two summers about Daniel James, who eventually joined the Whites last year for a club-record fee.
Going nowhere
Leeds might sell Raphinha this summer but we very much doubt that Phillips will be on his way out of Elland Road as well.
It’s typical that this story has come from the other end of the M62 because it doesn’t sound at all like what the local journalists in Yorkshire have been reporting.
In fact, it all sounds on this end that Phillips will sign a new contract with the Whites soon enough and pledge his allegiance to his boyhood club.
The Athletic have recently claimed that talks will be ramped up once the Premier League season is over.

And the only reason we can see Phillips leaving in the coming months is if the unlikely scenario occurs where Leeds are relegated back to the Championship.
And, even then, West Ham are a much better club for Phillips to join due to the potential they’re showing right now.
Phillips simply won’t go to Manchester United.
He’s a boyhood Leeds fan, unlike players such as Eric Cantona, Joe Jordan and Rio Ferdinand so that comparison by the MEN is desperate at best.
In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay has been told the Whites want to sign a midfielder who’s wowed Roy Keane this year.
