Leeds United ready transfer to sign Bundesliga attacker
Leeds United are eyeing Hoffenheim forward Mergim Berisha in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported in its sports print edition (6 January, pg 10) that the Whites have “shown interest” in the 26-year-old.
In the current campaign, the Germany international has scored one goal in 17 Bundesliga appearances.
Leeds United need January transfer like Mergim Berisha
Daniel Farke has the Peacocks at the top of the Championship table at the moment despite dropping points in the previous two fixtures.
Hull City snatched a point at the MKM Stadium after an 89th-minute equaliser from Abu Kamara in the 3-3 draw on 4 January.
Leeds are now just a point ahead of Burnley in the league table as they look to cement their place for an automatic promotion to the Premier League.
The Whites have heavily relied on Joel Piroe to find the back of the net this season, with Mateo Joseph still seemingly finding his feet at the West Yorkshire outfit.
Patrick Bamford has gone down the pecking order in the current campaign, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Englishman in the coming weeks.

If the former Chelsea striker were to leave in the winter window, it would make sense for the Peacocks to reinforce their attack.
Berisha has returned to action this season after an injury kept him out for a considerable period a few years ago.
During his time at RB Salzburg and Augsburg, the German contributed to a significant number of goals for his teams.
The 26-year-old’s record in front of goal isn’t the best, but Farke may be able to bring the best out of him at Elland Road.
Adding more depth to the backline seems like a priority as things stand, but a move for Berisha could help give the 48-year-old head coach more options up front.
