Leeds United ready to pounce for Couhaib Driouech as PSV transfer talks stall
Leeds United could be ready to take their opportunity to hijack a move for Excelsior forward Couhaib Driouech in the coming days, according to ED.
The Dutch publication notes [10 June] that Leeds are one of several clubs interested in the 22-year-old, whose proposed transfer to frontrunner PSV Eindhoven has hit a brick wall following a failure to agree terms.
There have reportedly been two weeks since any further movement in the PSV switch, meaning Driouech – allegedly chased by up to 10 clubs, including Championship rivals Swansea City – may be available for under £3.5million.
Leeds United approach Excelsior over Couhaib Driouech
Driouech’s mooted move to Leeds United is certainly one to keep tabs on, as an exciting player with experience, potential and end product – someone who could potentially light up Elland Road.
With six goals and six assists in the Eredivisie in 2023-24 – mainly operating as a left-winger – the Moroccan youth international has certainly proven his worth at the top level in the Netherlands, and could be a real asset in the Championship.

Driouech was recorded as the fastest player in the Dutch top flight in the recent season at an eye-watering 34.07km/h – a powerful attribute for any team’s arsenal, particularly one chasing promotion.
Leeds must recoup plenty of cash in the next few weeks to meet PSR guidelines and with several attacking stars set to depart Elland Road, a bargain deal for Driouech could be just the ticket for Daniel Farke.
