Leeds United ready multi-million bid to sign Swiss full-back Isaac Schmidt in late deal
Leeds United are prepared to submit a multi-million bid to sign Isaac Schmidt from St. Gallen before the 30 August transfer deadline, according to Blick.
The Swiss outlet reported on 29 August that the 24-year-old, whose contract expires in 2026, is high on the Whites’ shopping list.
The versatile full-back could depart the Swiss Super League for Elland Road with Daniel Farke’s side ready to pay a multi-million transfer fee.
Leeds United interested in signing Isaac Schmidt
The end of the transfer window appears to be hotting up at Leeds after a quiet spell, in terms of incomings, to begin the summer.
There have been plenty of outgoings which have certainly left a dent in their squad moving forward into the Championship season.
Key names like Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter have left the attacking line needing options with new signings like Largie Ramazani now coming in.
The defensive line looks stronger since the addition of Jayden Bogle but Farke now appears to want to add Schmidt to his set-up before the transfer deadline.

The Swiss full-back is versatile enough to play on either side of the back line while also being comfortable featuring in midfield if needed.
This could prove to be useful as the second-tier campaign takes its toll on the squad at Elland Road and injuries become more frequent as they did at times last season.
In other Leeds United transfer, Max Wober could quit in £16.8m deal in last-ditch move.
