Leeds United ready move to sign player Marcelo Bielsa blocked from joining

Leeds United had a quiet start to the transfer window but the signings could now be starting to flow at Elland Road.

Facundo Buonanotte has joined Leeds on loan from Brighton until the end of the season, as Daniel Farke looks to strengthen his midfield ranks.

Buonanotte rejected a move to the Whites over the summer, instead joining Chelsea, but only made one Premier League appearance for the West London side in the first half of the campaign.

With the attacking midfielder now in the building, the Elland Road outfit have switched their attention to a new target.

Leeds in the race for Napoli’s Noa Lang

Since Leeds switched from a back four to a back five, more emphasis has been placed on their attacking quality.

The likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Brenden Aaronson have stood out, with the Whites scoring 19 times across their last 10 games in all competitions.

Despite their recent exploits in front of goal, Farke’s side are still looking to improve in attacking areas.

According to credible journalist Gianluca Vitale, Leeds have been scouting Napoli winger Noa Lang, and are in the race to sign the Dutchman this month.

However, Farke’s side face stiff competition for the 26-year-old, with Monaco and Wolfsburg also interested.

It isn’t the first time that Leeds have been tracking Lang, but former manager Marcelo Bielsa wasn’t a fan of the Napoli star.

Marcelo Bielsa blocked Noa Lang move

Leeds have shown interest in Lang in the past, back when he was playing for Belgian side Club Brugge, but the forward ended up making the switch to PSV.

He spent two years in the Netherlands, scoring 11 goals and grabbing 10 assists in his final season at the club before joining Napoli last summer.

After his move to Elland Road fell through, Lang revealed that Bielsa was the man who blocked the deal.

The Argentine manager was unconvinced by Lang’s ability off the ball and ultimately decided against bringing him to West Yorkshire.

A few years on, though, he could be at Elland Road in 2026.
