Leeds United want to sign Jack Clarke as a replacement for Georginio Rutter, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The newspaper reported on 18 August (page 69) that the Whites face competition from Southampton and Lazio to land the 23-year-old.

After the exit of Rutter, Daniel Farke wants to bring the winger back to Elland Road after leaving for Tottenham in a £10million deal in 2019.

Leeds United want Jack Clarke back

It has been a turbulent summer for Leeds to deal with after being forced to play another campaign in the Championship.

This has resulted in plenty of key players departing with Rutter, Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville being the main losses.

In a move to finally try and add to the attacking options at Elland Road, the Whites want to now bring Clarke back to the club.

Marcelo Bielsa was a massive fan of the winger in his time at the club, telling Football London in September 2019: "Technically he is complete and his attitude today is very good."

After a failed spell with Spurs, the former Stoke City loanee has gone from strength to strength at Sunderland to become one of the best players in the division.

Although the 23-year-old wouldn't be a direct replacement for Summerville or Gnonto, there is no doubt he would add some quality to Farke's squad no doubt.
