Leeds United have tied down Ethan Ampadu to a new contract that sees him stay at Elland Road until 2030.

It is a massive step for the Whites to keep hold of their captain, with rumblings of transfer interest within the Premier League.

Under Daniel Farke, the Welshman has been an important cog in the machine the German is building. His consistency in the middle of the pitch has been vital.

With Ampadu’s deal out of the way, the Peacocks will surely be looking to get a few more players nailed down on new terms.

And Pascal Struijk should undoubtedly be the next player to agree to a new contract.

When does Pascal Struijk’s current contract at Leeds expire?

Struijk has been an indomitable defender for Leeds throughout the years, and he proved himself further in the season just gone.

The Dutchman is sure to garner plenty of interest, and with his current contract situation, many clubs could test Leeds’ resolve.

Struijk’s deal is currently set to end in June 2027, so if the Whites are unable to lock him down for a few more years, they may have to sell him this summer.

Paraag Marathe has spoken about how financially Leeds will not be a Premier League club until they have three seasons in the top flight.

Losing out on a player like Struijk for free is not a wise move for the Whites, so he must be locked into talks as soon as possible.

Leeds also need to give themselves a deadline on when they will cease those talks, and if nothing is agreed, they will likely have to sell.

Which other Leeds players could sign new deals?

Karl Darlow’s contract is set to expire at the end of June, and after an impressive campaign for Leeds, it would be a surprise to see him go without a new contract offered.

Brenden Aaronson is also likely to be in the same boat as Struijk, with his contract also ending in 2027.

His World Cup campaign could ultimately decide which direction the Whites move in regards to a sale or new contract.

Meanwhile, manager Farke will surely be offered an extension, with his contract also coming to an end after the 2026-2027 season.

But that will likely depend on if Leeds and the German share the same vision.
