Leeds new signing: ‘Explosive’ details emerge over bid to sign Mergim Berisha

Leeds United transfer target Mergim Berisha was represented by controversial football agent Roger Wittman before his Hoffenheim move, according to Laola1.

The news outlet reports (16 January) the “explosive” details as the centre-forward now looks to leave the Bundesliga outfit after changing his agent.

Leeds United to bolster their attack with Mergim Berisha transfer

The Peacocks look set to bolster their attack with the addition of the Germany international to their ranks.

While Berisha’s numbers at Hoffenheim aren’t encouraging, with just one goal scored this season, he hasn’t been afforded a lot of opportunities.

The 26-year-old has failed to cement his place in the Bundesliga outfit’s starting lineup, and his fitness issues have hampered his progress.

Joel Piroe has been relied upon by Daniel Farke to score goals consistently in the current campaign, but the Dutchman can’t be expected to carry most of the burden.

Leeds also have Moteo Joseph in their ranks, but the young Spaniard has failed to impress many despite being given a consistent run of games at the start of the season.

Farke will undoubtedly want to bolster his attacking ranks in the winter transfer window as he seeks promotion to the Premier League.

The Elland Road faithful expect the Whites to win the Championship title, but it will be challenging with Burnley and Sheffield United on their tails.

While the West Yorkshire club have a strong squad, they could do with more depth in certain positions, including the striking department.

Patrick Bamford has fallen down the pecking order and seemingly looks on his way out, with Berisha looking like an ideal replacement for the English forward.

In other Leeds United news, a Premier League ace would be an “ideal” signing in the winter window.
