Leeds United negotiating contract with Barcelona winger Ilias Akhomach, will finalise transfer this month
Leeds United are set to complete the transfer of Barcelona winger Ilias Akhomach before the end of this month, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Whites are keen to add the 18-year-old winger to their squad as his contract at the Camp Nou comes to an end at the end of this season, and they are negotiating his contract currently.
Akhomach has made it clear that he wants to play Premier League football and Leeds are now the only option for his imminent Barcelona exit, according to a fresh report from the Spanish press (14 March).
Should Leeds be relegated it’s not expected to be a problem with the deal despite Akhomach’s wish to play top division football.
Akhomach also attracted interest from AC Milan, Sevilla and Club Brugges but talks with Leeds are currently the most advanced and the Whites want to finalise a deal before the end of the month.

One thing Leeds are not light on right now is quality, young attacking talent in their squad and Ilias Akhomach is another one who would fit right in.
Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo are now getting beyond their best years, while there are question marks over the future of Jack Harrison long-term at Elland Road despite some talks over a new contract.
But Ilias would fit in right alongside the likes of Wilfried Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville, Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph, Joe Gelhardt and Brenden Aaronson as top quality attacking options under the age of 23.
Getting this deal done in advance would put to the sword any chance of it falling through if relegation were to happen, but the club are confident they will survive and the attacking talent we have is a big reason for that.
Akhomach is an exciting signing for the future, and someone who can come in and have an instant impact much like Gnonto did this season. It’s an exciting time to be a Leeds fan.
