Leeds United midfielder Jordan Stevens fails to win Harrogate deal
Jordan Stevens has failed to win a contract at Harrogate Town after the Leeds United midfielder joined the League Two club on trial.
The 21-year-old played in three pre-season fixtures for Harrogate but has not done enough to convince manager Simon Weaver to offer him a deal.
“We have decided not to take Jordan,” Weaver told the Harrogate Advertiser.

“He’s a good lad and a very talented footballer, but he’s not the right fit in terms of what we need at this moment in time.”
Unfortunate blow for Stevens
It has been a year to forget for the once-promising Leeds midfielder.
Stevens was seemingly always in Marcelo Bielsa’s plans in the Championship as he made the bench a number of times and was even handed six senior appearances by the Whites boss.
However, last term saw Stevens loaned out to Swindon in League One, where he started just six times in the league before joining Bradford in the winter, where he only started once in League Two.
Stevens has now failed to do enough to win a deal while on trial at another League Two club in Harrogate, a club that has far lower expectations than that of Bradford.
It’s quite worrying but surely an EFL club will take on Stevens after he did so well to impress Bielsa?
It remains to be seen what will happen next but Stevens does have another year left on his contract at Elland Road so he could see that out, play for the Under-23s in Premier League 2 and maybe get the odd first-team appearance in cup matches.
But this really doesn’t bode well for the former Forest Green Rovers ace.
In other Leeds United news, this “brilliant” player has been left out of a matchday squad amid strong speculation linking him with a move to Elland Road.
