Leeds United: Max Wober could leave Elland Road for good as £25m+ news emerges
Max Wober could be set for a permanent Leeds United exit this summer, although his loan club will not be able to match the £26.5million they spent last season, according to Gladbach Live.
The German news outlet [7 March] shared names of potential deals that could be done on the cheap but listed Wober as an exception despite a large fee expected to be necessary.
It is, however, reiterated that the form of Leeds under Daniel Farke and the distinct possibility that they achieve promotion could complicate any possible deal.
Will Monchengladbach sign Max Wober from Leeds United?
All arrows point towards a permanent deal for Wober to make the move to Germany, given his performances since arriving on loan last summer and the club’s reported determination to get a deal done regardless of their financial situation.
The reported complication if Leeds are promoted comes from the suggestion that they will be in a stronger financial position if they are in the Premier League, although parachute payments mean they are stable regardless of their promotion bid.
The defender had previously spoken about the way Leeds are playing this season, labelling the style of play as “really cool football”, and also shared that he has no control over his future if Leeds go up.

Monchengladbach have been in a “crisis” situation, tumbling down the league, and are still at risk of getting dragged into a proper relegation scrap – despite that, Wober has received high praise for his performances in the Bundesliga.
In other Leeds United news, Roy Keane spoke out after Leeds were mentioned in a Sky Sports special.
