Max Wober shares whether he could return to Leeds United, 'If they continue like this...'

Max Wober has admitted that his future could be out of his hands if Leeds United secure promotion back to the Premier League this season.

Speaking to Austrian news outlet Laola1 on Sunday (19 November), the 25-year-old centre-back said the Whites are playing “really cool football” and that it’s “fun to watch”.

The Austrian international added that it looks like they will win promotion if they keep up their current form, meaning he doesn’t know what will happen once his loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach comes to an end next summer.

“Leeds does it very well,” said Wober. “They play really cool football, it’s fun to watch. If they continue like this, everything looks like they are going up. Then the whole thing is not really in my hands.”

Long way to go

There is an awful long way to go this season before anything can be decided about where Wober’s future will lie beyond this season.

If Leeds do achieve promotion back to the Premier League, then there’s a reasonable chance that he will be back at Elland Road for the next campaign.

While the recent form has been excellent, the Whites are going to have to go on an incredible run over the next few months to claw back the gap to Leicester City and Ipswich Town.

Whether Daniel Farke would want to keep any of the players who forced moves away from the club following the relegation is also something that would come into question.

But it’s interesting to see that the Austrian is keeping a keen eye on their progress and it looks like he has even been watching some of the matches this season.
