Leeds United keen to seal new transfer immediately after Crysencio Summerville exit

Leeds United are keen to seal another new transfer as soon as possible, according to Beren Cross.

The Leeds Live journalist has reported (1 August) that the Whites have time to find a solid replacement ahead of the exit of Crysencio Summerville.

It comes as Summerville prepares to undergo a medical with West Ham before completing his move to the capital (Fabrizio Romano, 1 August).

Leeds United ready new transfer at Elland Road

When you fall at the final hurdle in the Championship play-off final, the subsequent summer is always going to be a tough one.

In addition to getting over such a mammoth defeat, you also have to prepare for an onslaught of clubs attempting to pick up your star players. For Leeds, that process began quite quickly.

Archie Gray left for Tottenham in a move that saw a big cash injection for the club. Alas, with Summerville heading for the exit door too, Leeds United will be losing two essential pieces of the puzzle just weeks before the new campaign is ready to get underway.

They’re going to be losing 19 league goals and nine assists (FBref), and those numbers don’t grow on trees in the second tier.

With that being said, Daniel Farke has built up a solid enough base within the squad that it shouldn’t be too difficult to convince some more top names to make their way to Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, Harry Gray has shared a new pre-season injury update in a now-deleted Instagram post.
