Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville is set to undergo a medical at West Ham United on Thursday (1 August), according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist reported on his X account (1 August), that Summerville will undergo his medical as he finalises his exit from Elland Road.

Romano previously reported that Leeds have reached an agreement to receive £25m upfront with various add-ons for Summerville.

Daniel Farke was resigned to the fact that Summerville would leave the club after their Championship play-off final defeat to Southampton, but is still a huge blow to United's promotion chances this season.

The 22-year-old was the Championship Player of the Year last season with 20 goals and nine assists in 43 appearances for the Whites, and was an instrumental figure in their third-place finish last term.

Leeds had hoped to fetch a higher fee for their prized asset but interest from Premier League sides Liverpool and Newcastle United, plus French champions PSG, failed to materialise.

The only consolation for Leeds fans is the saga has finally come to an end. Given the long-standing interest in Summerville this summer, surely potential replacements have already been identified by the scouting department.

Leeds have just over a week before their Championship opener against Portsmouth on August 10 to find a replacement and his departure could not have been timed worse.

There is no time to waste and Leeds must lick their wounds and move quickly to reinvest the money and ensure they can field a side capable of Premier League promotion next season.
