Leeds United have joined the race to sign Mohamed Belloumi from Farense, according to Record.
The Portuguese outlet reported on 27 August (page 20) that the Whites face competition from a wide range of clubs to sign the Algeria international.
Leeds representatives watched the 22-year-old, who is in contract until 2027, on several occasions last season in Liga Portugal.
Leeds United interested in Mohamed Belloumi
Daniel Farke’s side have finally woken up in the transfer market after spending the majority of the summer focusing on outgoing deals.
This has seen them make plenty of profit from sales of key stars like Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville.
Georginio Rutter has also left the club which has left the Whites light in forward areas and in need of fresh faces and squad options.
This has seen Largie Ramazani come in at Elland Road and it seems clear that another forward option is wanted before the transfer deadline slams shut.
The Algerian is versatile on the right-hand side and is willing to track back which could help Jayden Bogle defensively which could prove to be positive.

At 22 there are plenty of ways that the Farense star can improve but in the Championship he could potentially thrive.
Farke appears to be getting some players he wants through the doors now which will excite supporters.
