Leeds United finalise £20m Luis Sinisterra exit deal as Bournemouth twist emerges – Sky Sports
Leeds United have agreed a deal worth £20m for Luis Sinisterra to leave Elland Road permanently and join Bournemouth, according to Sky Sports.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (8 February), journalist Mark McAdam reports that the Cherries have agreed a deal to turn the Colombian winger’s loan deal permanent in the summer.
Sinisterra joined the Whites from Eredivisie club Feyenoord in the summer of 2022 but had an injury-hit season at Elland Road before leaving on loan in the summer on deadline day despite telling fans he was set to stay.
“Bournemouth have agreed a deal with Leeds to turn Luis Sinisterra’s loan into a permanent £20m transfer,” he wrote.
“The Colombian has scored three goals since joining in the summer.”
Permanent Luis Sinisterra exit good for Leeds United
There was plenty of love for Sinisterra at Elland Road after his performances during last season for Leeds, but his injuries were a big problem.
He then had a massive issue in the summer with not wanting to play in the Championship and refused to play earlier in this campaign, before Daniel Farke made the decision to let him leave late.
It also meant that the club were able to bring in Jaidon Anthony on loan for the season as his replacement, and we haven’t missed Sinisterra in the slightest.
He is a top class player when he is fit but he suffers injuries far too often and he clearly wasn’t that interested in playing for Leeds United, so letting him go is the best for everyone.
£20m represents a good bit of business for a player signed for £21m two years ago, especially considering there was an £18.9m buy-option in the deal, as it will help with any FFP restrictions and means Daniel Farke will have cash to spend in the summer to bolster the squad. Everyone wins with this deal.
