Leeds United: Fabrizio Romano shares ‘here we go’ update as full Raphinha agreement reached

Fabrizio Romano has dropped his famous “here we go” catchphrase with Leeds United winger Raphinha finally heading towards a move to Barcelona.

Writing via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday night (12 July), Guardian journalist Romano reported that a “full agreement” has been reached between Leeds and Barca, who’s bid of £48.9million, plus add-ons, has been accepted.

It is understood that the full value of the agreement is £56.5million.

Romano claims that Raphinha is set to sign a five-year deal at the Nou Camp and it’s now time for documents and contracts to be completed for the deal to go through.

Orta’s best deal?

Victor Orta has understandably received a lot of criticism in his time as the director of football at Leeds United.

Paul Heckingbottom, Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Ousaim Bouy. What was he thinking?

But while the Spaniard has had more duds than success stories, you cannot beat the success story that Raphinha has been at Elland Road.

In two years in West Yorkshire, he’s emerged as a modern-day hero.

Leeds United

He was superb in his debut season at Leeds as he helped us finish ninth in the Premier League and without him last season, it’s fair to say we would have been relegated.

Raphinha had his moments where consistency was an issue and for a spell last season, it did look as though the interest from Barcelona had turned his head.

But all in all, he’s been a superb player for Leeds United Football Club and we’re happy that he’s getting the move he wants and that we’re getting a decent fee for him too.

We wish Raphinha all the best at Barcelona.

Who would have thought that a Leeds signing from Ligue 1 would end up being one of the first names on the teamsheet for Barcelona and Brazil?

In other Leeds United news, this £40,000-a-week Leeds player is being hidden from pre-season footage as the club gets ready to get rid of him.
