Leeds United bid update emerges as Nico Raskin-Rangers exit on the cards

Leeds United and Aston Villa have reportedly registered their interest in signing Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin.

The 24-year-old has thrived at Ibrox this season, becoming one of the first names on the team sheet for the SPFL runners-up.

The Belgium international’s current deal at the Glasgow outfit runs until the end of the 2026/27 campaign.

Rangers may receive ‘serious’ Raskin bid in the coming weeks

Rangers appear to be fighting a battle to keep the in-demand Belgian at Ibrox beyond this summer.

Even though he’s got two years left on his deal, an exit cannot be ruled out.

The Ibrox outfit’s model has been to buy players on the cheap and sell them for a profit – something they could look to do for Raskin.

Leeds United will benefit from signing Raskin this summer

Raskin would be an excellent signing for Leeds due to his versatility, work rate and proven quality as a midfielder.

The 24-year-old Belgian has shone at Rangers, demonstrating his ability to impact both defensively and offensively.

His 86 per cent pass accuracy highlights his composure and tenacity, qualities that align with Daniel Farke’s high-pressing, dynamic system.

Raskin’s experience in the Scottish Premiership and Europa League, coupled with his recent Belgium debut, suggests he’s ready for the Premier League’s intensity.

With Leeds aiming to solidify their midfield post-promotion, Raskin’s box-to-box energy and technical ability make him a perfect fit to complement players like Ao Tanaka.

His likely £20million+ valuation reflects his potential, and the 49ers Enterprises’ Rangers takeover could ease negotiations, ensuring Leeds secure a long-term asset.
