Leeds United bet heavily on Ilias Akhomach transfer with financial agreement on verge
Leeds United will pay a figure to Barcelona to sign Ilias Akhomach despite his contract come to an end within weeks at the Nou Camp, according to SPORT.
The Spanish newspaper reported in its print edition [19 April, pg 14], that the Whites have bet heavily on the young winger with Arsenal and Sevilla also pushing hard.
Despite that, the deal should be concluded within hours with Victor Orta getting his first transfer over the line ahead of the summer window already at Elland Road.

They wrote: “The Barça club will not remain empty with the departure of Ilias and the formula is just being agreed so that Barça can take some economic advantage, despite finishing the contract.
“The striker has always expressed his Barcelona feeling, but the lack of opportunities and an attractive and fair renewal proposal lead to the already certain change of scenery.
“Leeds have indeed bet heavily on the skilled winger.”

This one looks to be virtually done given that it could be finalised within hours.
Leeds are betting heavily on transfers already, especially given the fact that we still don’t even know which division they will be in given relegation is still possible.
As a Premier League club, this isn’t an inspiring transfer straight away, but in the Championship, he could be given the chance to become a star at Elland Road instantly.
Staying up would mean that Akhomach would be immediately behind Wilfired Gnonto, Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra, regardless of their form right now.
Paying a small compensation fee will make this transfer possible regardless of relegation will be good though, and whoever the manager will be, looks to be getting a young starlet.
Even if this is done within hours, Leeds will likely not announce that until the summer, so definitely keep an eye on this one as the weeks progress.
