Leeds United already looking at new midfielder transfers after Glen Kamara news

Leeds United have already looked at new midfielders with Glen Kamara set to exit, according to Graham Smyth.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported via X on 13 July that despite bringing in Joe Rothwell, Leeds are already looking at other targets to bring in.

Smyth also detailed that Leeds simply has to bring in another option after agreeing to an £8.5million deal with Rennes for the Finland international [Fabrizio Romano].

Leeds United eyeing midfield targets as Glen Kamara replacements

Not only has the departure of Archie Gray happened this summer but now it seems as if former Rangers man Kamara is now on the cusp of exiting West Yorkshire.

When played together, Kamara and Gray formed a solid partnership. Even when Ethan Ampadu was deployed next to the Finland international, the centre of the park was always fairly solid.

However, despite the duo solidifying their defence and allowing as few goals in as possible, defending isn’t all a midfielder should do on a football pitch.

It feels as if Daniel Farke has realised this over the summer, especially with the addition of Rothwell.

Although the former Blackburn Rovers man is also a defensive midfielder, he can also offer the team an attacking output if and when needed.

It’s evident that the dynamic of Leeds’ midfield will be shifting next term and fans should be excited for what’s to come, even if the sales of Kamara and Gray don’t make sense just yet.

In other Leeds news, Brighton have made their final decision on Crysencio Summerville.
