Leeds transfer round-up: Guebbels contact made, Firpo and Joseph exits ‘sealed’
Leeds United are set for an eventful summer transfer window as they’re preparing to build a side ready for the Premier League.
Daniel Farke is aware that certain players will be parting ways with the club and they will need to be replaced with top-flight quality.
The last time Leeds secured promotion under Marcelo Bielsa, they finished in the top half, clear of any relegation danger.
With plenty happening behind the scenes, MOT Leeds News has prepared a transfer round-up:

Reinildo transfer approach made
With Firpo’s future at Leeds uncertain as his contract nears its end this summer, the club are actively seeking left-back replacements.
Firpo’s exit would leave the Whites with only Sam Byram as the primary left-back.
To address this, Leeds have approached Atletico Madrid defender Reinildo, a 31-year-old set to become a free agent after the Club World Cup, per journalist Ben Jacobs (11 June).
Reinildo’s 2024/25 La Liga statistics | Total |
Appearances (starts) | 19 (10) |
Touches | 39.5 |
Accurate passes | 23 (84%) |
Clean sheets | 4 |
Clearances | 1.7 |
Total duels won | 2.6 (49%) |
A move to the Premier League could offer him regular first-team football.
However, they face competition from Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, making the pursuit challenging as they aim to bolster their defence to avoid Premier League relegation.

Willem Guebbels sounded out by Leeds
Leeds United have sounded out a deal to sign St Gallen forward Willem Geubbels this summer. (Foot Mercato journalist Sebastien Denis, 11 June)
Wolves, Southampton and Sheffield United are three other clubs keen on securing the 23-year-old’s services.
It’s understood that the France Under-21s striker will be available for an £8.4million fee.
Guebbels is on the back of an impressive season, scoring 14 goals in 31 appearances to become one of the most in-demand forwards in Europe.
Mateo Joseph and Firpo appear close to Elland Road exits
Firpo appears to be on the verge of joining Real Betis, who have offered him a three-year contract. (ABC, 12 June)
Talks are ongoing between the La Liga side and the 28-year-old, who will be available on a free transfer as his deal runs out.
Mateo Joseph, too, is closing in on a move to Betis this summer.
It’s understood that the Spanish outfit are only willing to pay £6.8million while the Elland Road outfit want more than twice that amount. (Diario de Sevilla,11 June)
