Leeds to complete another new signing today – Sky Sports
Leeds United are set to complete the signing of Fulham right-back Cody Drameh today (Wednesday), according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster has reported on their live transfer blog (Wednesday, 2:05pm) that the Whites had made an offer to sign Drameh, 18, for an initial fee of £400,000.
The Daily Mail has reported that the deal to sign the England Under-18 international will rise up to £1million due to certain add-ons and bonuses.
Drameh was in the final year of his contract at Craven Cottage and had never made a first-team appearance for the London club.
However, it is understood that Marcelo Bielsa is going to hand the young full-back a chance to shine in his senior squad next season.
It might seem risky considering the fact that Drameh has no first-team experience but Luke Ayling is still likely to be Bielsa’s first-choice right-back in the Premier League and Drameh could learn a lot from being his understudy.
The teenager is going to arrive at Thorp Arch as someone who fans will be eager to see develop.
In the past, he’s been likened to Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold for the way he loves to attack down the right-hand flank.
His seven assists in 17 Premier League 2 appearances last term certainly back that claim up.
Leeds have been very busy so far this summer with Illan Meslier and Helder Costa signed up permanently and Jack Harrison arriving on a third loan deal.
Joe Gelhardt and Charlie Allen have also come in and it seems Drameh is going to be the latest addition to the growing squad at Elland Road.
