Leeds United fans have been purring over Germany’s Robin Gosens after the Atalanta wing-back shone against Portugal at the weekend.

Gosens, 26, scored and supplied two assists as the Germans won 4-2 against Portugal in their Euro 2020 group stage showdown in Munich.

Leeds are widely reported to be on the hunt for a new left-back this summer with the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that the Whites are working on a deal to sign an unnamed player in that position.

And after such a superb performance for Germany, our panel of Leeds Super Fans are hopeful that Atalanta’s Gosens is the player who Victor Orta is trying to land.

Here is a selection of their messages:

Gosens is a powerful wing-back who’s played on the left-hand side for Atalanta in their 3-4-2-1 formation.

Last season, the former Vitesse ace scored 12 goals and supplied eight assists in 44 appearances across all competitions in that role to help Atalanta qualify for the Champions League in third place in Serie A and reach the Coppa Italia final.

Gosens scored against Liverpool in the Champions League group stages last term and also made the net bulge against Lazio, Roma and Napoli in the league.

If Leeds want an attack-minded left-back this summer, Gosens is clearly the right man for them.

Ezgjan Alioski could leave next week when his contract expires and even if he stays, Gosens would clearly be a massive upgrade and one that could help Leeds continue to perform well in the Premier League.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are ready to smash their transfer record to sign this central midfielder.
