Leeds ‘most serious to sign Diego Carlos’ with transfer offer soon
Diego Carlos could be the next new arrival at Leeds United.
Carlos could leave Fenerbahce after only playing half a season in Turkey this summer and return to the Premier League.
The defender left Aston Villa in January after two and a half years with the Villains, but struggled again with injuries last campaign.
While his injuries are a worry, his top-flight experience could prove useful, and the Peacocks may now be advancing to sign the defender.

Leeds to make formal offer for Carlos
Farke has been quick to strengthen his defence this season, adding the likes of Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson to their ranks, and he is now keen to add more depth.
It was reported that Fenerbahce will only consider a loan-to-buy offer for Carlos, who has attracted interest from all three promoted clubs this summer.

Reports from FotoMac in Turkey (23 July) now claim that Leeds are the “most serious” in the race for Carlos and could make a formal offer soon.
The 32-year-old would likely cost the Peacocks around the £10million that Fenerbache paid for him in January.
Given his experience and quality, it would be another statement addition for the Whites, but Carlos’ injury record could stifle Farke’s side next season.
In the last two seasons alone, the 32-year-old has missed 27 games and has a record of recurring muscle injuries.

Farke needs to start targeting attackers
One of the key things promoted sides struggle with is scoring goals in the top flight.
Farke’s side have only brought in Lukas Nmecha from VfL Wolfsburg on a free transfer so far this summer in the final third.
Leeds’ number nines struggled outside of Joel Piroe last campaign, and they will no doubt continue in a similar vein should they not add to their forward line.
With Mateo Joseph now potentially leaving, the 49ers need to put added onus on improving the Peacocks’ forward line, or they face a tough 2025/26 campaign.
