Leeds grant permission for Joe Gelhardt exit, agreement reached
Leeds United have sanctioned a loan deal for Joe Gelhardt with Hull City, according to Hull Live.
The online outlet reported on Sunday (12 January) that the Tigers are moving closer to signing the 22-year-old after agreeing a deal with the Whites.
The forward was absent from Daniel Farke’s squad on Saturday (11 January) against Harrogate Town after a temporary switch was green-lighted.
A loan move to the MKM Stadium could be confirmed in the next 48 hours and will last until the end of the campaign.
Joe Gelhardt to leave Leeds United in Hull City loan move
The former Wigan forward was brought to Elland Road by Victor Orta in 2020 but he has failed to have a positive impact since signing.
This has seen the striker already make on loan move away from Yorkshire but also failed to make a difference in his time at Sunderland.
Daniel Farke has shown little to no faith in Leeds’ number 30 in the last two years, favouring Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph and even Patrick Bamford up front.
With that being said, it makes total sense for the youngster to make a move away from LS11 as he attempts to get his career back on track.

There is every chance that he can do that under Ruben Selles in the second half of the season who is in need of a striker option.
If he can succeed with the Tigers, it will be interesting to see how the Whites deal with Gelhardt in the summer.
