Blackburn Rovers have entered the race to sign Patrick Bamford if he leaves Leeds United, according to the Sun on Sunday.

The newspaper reported on 12 January (page 55) that John Eustace wants a striker at Ewood Park and would take the 31-year-old in January.

Rovers have also shown an interest in West Brom winger Jed Wallace who they could sign if a move for Crystal Palace ace Jeff Schlupp falls through during the winter window.

It looks likely that the former England international is going to be on his way out of Elland Road this winter after a tough time in recent months.

The former Chelsea youngster hasn't scored since April last year and has only managed to make 10 appearances for the Whites this campaign.

Daniel Farke has instead put his faith in Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph which has paid off as the pair have 20 goal involvements between them this season.

This looks to be the right decision as Leeds sit top of the Championship table and as a result, it could make sense for Bamford to depart.

The ex-Middlesbrough man has many suitors and with Blackburn being the latest name to add to the list, there is a chance that the Englishman remains in the second tier if he moves from Yorkshire.

In his seven-year spell at Elland Road, the forward has had some memorable moments but he now appears to be facing the exit door.
