Leeds United could add Lassine Sinayoko to their ranks this summer.

Daniel Farke is keen to add attacking reinforcements in the transfer window, and he may now have the opportunity to do so.

The Mali international notched 12 goals and four assists for French outfit AJ Auxerre.

That has led to significant interest from the Premier League, including from the Elland Road side.

They are not alone in their pursuit of the 26-year-old, but they have been handed the go-ahead to make their move.

Whether they can pull it off, remains to be seen, but they are well positioned.

Leeds in race for Lassine Sinayoko

Sinayoko looks set to move on from Auxurre this summer, as they are prepared for his departure.

A report from Media Foot on Wednesday claimed that they have given the green light for his sale, with Leeds, Everton, Fulham and Crystal Palace after the forward, with a valuation exceeding £12.9million.

It states that the latter may have the advantage, as their new manager Pierre Sage wanted him last season, which is named as the potential deciding factor.

Interest from the other top-flight clubs could drive up the price, it is understood.

Who is Leeds target Sinayoko

Sinayoko was born in Bamako, the capital city of Mali, and played for Paris-based outfits Cosmo Taverny and Entente SSG in his youth.

He moved to Auxurre's academy in 2017, signing his first professional contract in June 2019.

The Malian was a key part of the B club's promotion to the Championnat National 2, the fourth tier of French football in the 2019-20 season.

He made his senior debut in April 2021 in a 4-0 win over Niort in Ligue 2, and has notched 31 goals and 25 assists in 175 games so far for the club.

The striker has 31 caps for his country, receiving his first in September 2021 against Uganda in a World Cup qualifier.

He has 10 goals and one assist for the national team, including six strikes at the Africa Cup of Nations.

It would be a gamble for the Whites if they were to sign him, but his story is a fascinating one, and he may end up working out.
