Leeds deal on the cards with Nottingham Forest ace set to leave on loan
Leeds United could sign Andrew Omobamidele from Nottingham Forest in January, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper reported via their website on 1 January that Omobamidele, 22, is “poised to go out on loan” in the coming weeks.
It is understood that Elland Road is a “possible destination” for the Republic of Ireland international, who has made just one appearance in all competitions for Forest this season.
Leeds likely to sign Omobamidele in January transfer window
Omobamidele joined Forest from Norwich in September last year.
The Premier League high-flyers reportedly paid a whopping £11million for the ex-Canaries ace but they’ve played him just 15 times since in all competitions.
It’s fair to say that the young Irishman was doing well at Carrow Road before his big-money move to the East Midlands, where he’s done nothing but stagnate and – potentially – grown frustrated by the lack of opportunities he’s had.

But with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side smashing it in the Premier League, there’s little chance that Omobamidele will be getting into his team soon.
Omobamidele’s time at the City Ground has been hampered by injury, though.
Leeds could offer him the chance to be a benchwarmer for them and only play him if Daniel Farke has any issues with his main centre-backs in the final months of the season.
But would the defender want that as he seeks to revive his stalling club and international career? It seems unlikely when there are bound to be clubs in the Championship who’d take him on loan to be a starter.
