Leeds can finally sign one of Victor Orta’s favourite transfer targets for just £8.6m
Leeds United could lean on the work of Victor Orta two years after his departure.
The Whites are just days away from their Premier League opener against Everton (18 August) and will be keen to add to their squad before that.
To this point, Daniel Farke has brought in seven fresh faces, but will be hopeful of completing more signings before the window comes to an end.
This could be set to happen in the coming days or weeks as Victor Orta finally looks set to get his transfer wish at Elland Road.

Orta target moves closer to Leeds move
The Spaniard departed his role as Director of Football in LS11 back in May 2023, but hasn’t cut any links to the Whites since leaving.
This has seen Orta show interest in the likes of Wilfried Gnonto at Sevilla before going on to become Sporting Director at Real Valladolid.
Ultimately, this interest never paid off, and instead, the Yorkshire club are left navigating the transfer window with Adam Underwood at the helm.
Even with the 43-year-old in charge, targets that Orta once wanted to sign at Leeds are once again being assessed by the Whites.
This comes after Corriere dello Sport reported (15 August) that the Whites are interested in landing a deal to sign Noah Okafor from AC Milan.
The 25-year-old didn’t feature for the Rossoneri in pre-season, so could move to LS11 for a fee over £8.6million to secure a permanent move.

Leeds United reignite Okafor interest
It is fair to say that Orta had some nearly moments at Leeds United, coming close to signing Viktor Gyokeres before instead signing Georginio Rutter.
Another one of those saw Leeds target Okafor as Victor Orta looked to utilise his connections at RB Salzburg.
Stat | 2021/22 | 2022/23 |
Appearances | 34 | 32 |
Goals | 14 | 10 |
Assists | 9 | 4 |
The Switzerland international faced interest from a number of top sides, including Borussia Dortmund, before Okafor rejected Leeds United to join AC Milan instead.
It now appears that the Whites could reignite their interest and swoop in to land his signature two years after Orta missed out on his signature.
