Junior Firpo arrives in Leeds to complete transfer
Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo has arrived in Leeds ahead of signing for Leeds United in a deal worth around £12.9million, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish news outlet claims Firpo, 24, is set to undergo a medical with the Whites but he’s being forced to quarantine first due to COVID-19 regulations in the UK.
It is understood that Leeds and Barca consider the agreement “closed” and the Dominican Republic-born left-back is set to sign a “four or five” year deal with the Yorkshire giants.

No point getting impatient
We cannot do anything about the COVID protocols and neither can any of the clubs or the people involved in the deal. All we can do for now is wait.
Leeds have waited a long time to have a proper left-back in their squad who can cement his spot in the first-team and really have an impact for Marcelo Bielsa.
We can wait a few more days and while Firpo is in quarantine, it gives him chance to brush up on the history of the great club he’s set to sign for.
Also, it would not shock us at all if Bielsa had given the left-back some kind of homework, to study styles of play, tactics, stats, opposition et cetera.
Bielsa challenges his players both mentally and physically so while Firpo is set for a brilliant move to Elland Road, he’s also set for a very testing one.
We’re excited to see what he can offer but let’s just hope his spell in self-isolation goes well and he tests negative for COVID before passing a medical check with the Whites.
After he’s arrived officially, it will be interesting to see where Leeds go next with their transfer plan.
We’d like to see Bielsa and Victor Orta add to the central midfield options.
