Journalist claims Raphinha wants to stay at Leeds United for 'one more year'
Raphinha is willing to stay at Leeds United for one more season, according to journalist Tom McDermott.
McDermott, a member of the Football Writers’ Association and creator of Manchester United fansite and podcast ‘The United End’, made the claim on his personal Twitter profile on Thursday night.
He wrote: “Re Raphinha and Leeds United. The player would do one more year. Liverpool are the most interested but that would intensify if [Mohamed] Salah or [Sadio] Mane move on. Liverpool are also keeping an eye on the [Jadon] Sancho situation but would only make a move if Salah went.”
Re Raphina and #LUFC. Player would do one more year. #LFC the most interested but that would intensify if Salah or Mane move on. #LFC also keeping an eye on Sancho situation but would only make move if Salah went. #MUFC could conclude a deal tomorrow if they really wanted.

Earlier on Thursday YEP journalist Graham Smyth reported that Liverpool have yet to make contact with Leeds over a move for the Brazilian.
Raphinha only joined the Whites from French side Rennes in October, and he scored six goals and contributed nine assists in his debut Premier League campaign.
The Leeds lure
Surely it’s a bit hasty for Raphinha to decide he is going to leave Leeds next year?
It’s great news to hear that he has no intention of leaving this summer, but we think the club can persuade him to stick around even longer.
Leeds are a massive club and Raphinha will not get many bigger and better opportunities to flourish.
At Elland Road he has a secure first-team spot under one of the world’s best managers in Marcelo Bielsa.
El Loco has created a carnival atmosphere at Thorp Arch with everyone buying into his methodologies and the arrival of the Brazilian last year was the icing on top of the cake.
His skills and tenacity on the wing helped us to a brilliant ninth-place finish, but now we want more.
With some astute signings this summer there is no reason why we cannot trouble the elite sides and push for a place in Europe.
That has to be the aim, and surely the club will be telling Raphinha all about their aspirations to take our club back to the superpower that it once was.
With fans back in stadiums next season Raphinha will surely feel the love at Elland Road and re-think his idea to exit in 2022.
