Jorgen Strand Larsen completes medical as Leeds transfer race concludes
Leeds United have been pursuing Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen for much of the winter transfer window.
Leeds bid up to £39million for Wolves’ Strand Larsen, but that was rejected by the Premier League’s basement side last month.
Crystal Palace then became the frontrunners to sign the 25-year-old, who has only scored one Premier League goal this season.
A £50m deal was initially agreed, but that has since dropped to around £48m, as Palace try to move on from wantaway forward Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Now, a big development has occurred with Leeds target Strand Larsen in the final hours of the winter window.
Leeds United learn their fate over Jorgen Strand Larsen pursuit
So far this season, Leeds have exceeded expectations with free agent signings Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha.
The two strikers, who have a record of being quite injury-prone, have racked up 14 goals between them as Leeds sit six points above the relegation zone.
But Daniel Farke’s side were always interested in signing another focal point up top and landed on Norway international Strand Larsen.

But according to Sky Sports, he has completed his medical at Palace ahead of a Selhurst Park transfer, which involves a fixed fee of £43m, plus £5m in potential add-ons.
The report adds that Palace are “not aware” of any issues with transfer agreements for both Strand Larsen and Mateta to AC Milan.
It seems Leeds will just miss out on the Wolves man as the transfer window ticks down to its conclusion.
Will Leeds be able to stay in the Premier League without another striker signing?
Other than Leeds signing Brighton youngster Facundo Buonanotte on loan for the rest of the season, months on from the Argentine snubbing the Elland Road club for Chelsea, the winter window has been quiet for the Whites.
While they were never expected to beat Arsenal on Saturday, their 4-0 drubbing has got many Leeds fans anxious about their chances of achieving Premier League survival.
Like many teams, Leeds are one injury away from being short of a player in a certain position, and that could spell disaster for the rest of the season.

Leeds have been linked with Wolfsburg forward Mohamed Amoura but for now, that move feels like a long shot for the Yorkshire outfit.
Off the back of West Ham and Nottingham Forest’s improved form, Leeds are less certain about beating the drop.
Next up, they host Forest at Elland Road on Friday in a relegation six-pointer. If they could get another signing through the door before then, that could be the difference between survival and relegation.
