James Trafford is yet to arrive in Yorkshire as Leeds United fans wait on a deal to be completed for the Manchester City goalkeeper.

It's been 10 days since it was reported that Leeds have agreed a club-record £40million package to sign the 23-year-old England international from Man City.

After seeing several deals break down over the years, Leeds fans are understandably concerned about how long it's taking for the goalkeeper's move to Elland Road to be made official despite the agreement being place.

Trafford is, at least, in the country, but it seems as though he's working alone on his fitness in Carlisle.

The Cumbria-born shot-stopper has shared an image on his personal Instagram account that shows him at a running track.

That led to speculation that he may be going through his paces somewhere in Leeds, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Where James Trafford actually is

It appears that Trafford might be using the running track at Sheepmouth Athletics Stadium in Carlisle in a bid to stay fit.

That's according to the LeedsAllOver account on X, which says that it's not Leeds Beckett University.

A Google search of Sheepmouth Athletics Stadium seems to confirm LeedsAllOver's hunch to be correct.

It's unfortunate for Leeds fans who thought they might have stumbled across a bit of intel suggesting the deal is closing to being announced.

But there are reasons why this Leeds transfer has been made official yet - and they're ones that should allay any concerns.

Why Leeds are yet to announce Trafford's arrival

As it stands, Trafford is serving a three-week break that's enforced by FIFA after the World Cup, even though he didn't play a minute in North America for the Three Lions.

England beat France 6-4 to secure a third-placed finish at the 2026 World Cup on 18 July, meaning that his three-week holiday will be over before the end of this week.

Yes, Trafford can still join Leeds in that time, but reports suggest there's a sense of calm behind the scenes and the goalkeeper will make his move once he's back from his break.

Leeds fans basically just need to be patient.

This will be a really good signing by Daniel Farke and co and a huge upgrade on the goalkeeping options that the Whites had last season after bidding farewell to Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier.
