Jack Harrison with Leeds United squad on plane to Australia amid latest transfer development

Jack Harrison is on his way to Australia with the rest of the Leeds United squad despite speculation surrounding his future at Elland Road this summer.

Harrison, 25, has been a mainstay of the Leeds starting line-up for the last four seasons but has now reportedly emerged on the radar of Newcastle United.

According to the Daily Mail on Saturday (9 July), the Magpies are weighing up a bid for the former Manchester City winger and Leeds have been considering whether to sell him.

Despite this, it’s clear on Harrison’s Instagram story on Sunday morning (10 July) that he’s on the plane to Australia with the rest of Jesse Marsch’s squad.

Don’t sell him

Harrison is a player who’s grown and grown in his time at Elland Road.

Most of us will remember his first season on loan at Leeds from Man City.

He was terrible.

However, the former New York City winger grew and grew under Marcelo Bielsa and he was instrumental in our promotion-winning season, played superbly well in his debut Premier League campaign and was one of Leeds’ top performers last season too.

Only Raphinha outscored Harrison last term as the Stoke-born winger scored 10 goals and supplied two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

Harrison’s last goal of the 2021/22 season came on the final day of the campaign when Leeds won 2-1 at Brentford and sealing their Premier League survival.

While Harrison isn’t seen as one of our best and most important players, we’d be gutted to lose him.

Newcastle will be a better team with him and we’ll be worse without him.

However, Luis Sinisterra has arrived from Feyenoord and while many are saying he’s a replacement for Raphinha, he’s a left-sided winger just like Harrison.

Is that a hint we should take notice of?

In other Leeds United news, this £40,000-a-week Leeds player is being hidden from pre-season footage as the club gets ready to get rid of him.
