Jack Harrison is somehow still a Leeds United player.

After a sensational start to his career at Elland Road under Marcelo Bielsa, the winger was signed permanently from Manchester City.

Harrison sparkled in the Premier League with several crucial goals, but after relegation, the trouble really started.

Leeds were forced to part ways, which has since led to three loans away from West Yorkshire, and he still has a year left on his contract.

Two spells at Everton didn’t go too well, and his return to Leeds at the start of last season didn’t either, with a move to Fiorentina secured in the winter.

Despite small success there, Harrison is back at Leeds United again.

Jack Harrison set for pre-season chance at Leeds

Leeds fans never truly welcomed Harrison back, and it stems from some comments made by him and other family members while at Everton.

Daniel Farke knew it would be a frosty reception for the winger, but yet he continued to select him in squads after his return.

It never worked, and his January move was agreed with the hope that it would turn permanent.

That wasn’t the case, and The Athletic has reported that Harrison is bound to start pre-season with Leeds once again.

Some won’t believe that, but either way, he’s not getting a contract extension.

How did it ever go so wrong for Harrison at Leeds?

Looking at his numbers in his first few years in LS11, he was a standout figure and posted some amazing stats in the Premier League.

With 64 goal involvements in his five full seasons at Elland Road, it was a shock that there wasn’t greater interest following relegation.

Bielsa got that magic out of his players, though, with the likes of Patrick Bamford another example of what he could do.

Harrison did get his move to stay in the Premier League, but he never hit those same heights at Everton, with eight goal involvements in 74 appearances for the Toffees.

Sometimes, things change and you lose that spark, and that appears to be the case for the attacker, who is very unlikely to get another shot at the Premier League.

With a return to Leeds now set, it’s interesting to see what will happen next.
