‘It’s happening’, ‘What a tease’ – Some Leeds fans thrilled by new tweet from Rodrigo De Paul
Leeds United fans aren’t giving up on signing Rodrigo De Paul and the Udinese man’s latest social media post has stirred the hornets’ nest again.
With the January transfer window now open, De Paul has tweeted to say, “New year, New challenges. I’m ready.”
It does seem like a hint that he could be on the move and it didn’t take long for Leeds fans to pile onto the post.
De Paul has previous on social media.
He got the Leeds fans excited in the summer when he made it clear that he would relish a move to Elland Road.
He subsequently deleted the tweet, but not before it was retweeted everywhere.
De Paul stayed at Udinese but he’s had a brilliant start to the season and was included in the WhoScored Serie A Team of 2020.
Could he come to Leeds in January?
It’s unlikely. Leeds have said it’s going to be a quiet month and it isn’t generally the time that they make blockbuster signings.
With a fee of around £30m on his head, De Paul would be the sort of signing we’d expect Leeds to make in the summer.
But, that hasn’t stopped the Leeds fans letting De Paul know that they’re as keen on him moving to Elland Road as he was in the summer.
We’d absolutely love to see him move to Leeds, too, but we just don’t think it’s going to happen.
It won’t be for the lack of trying from Leeds fans, though. Here are the best reactions to his latest tweet…
