'Amazing start to 2021', 'Great news' – Some Leeds fans react to big update on unpopular pundit

Dave is a huge Leeds fan and ardent disciple of Bielsa ball. A career in print magazines that included editing PC Zone, launching PokerPlayer and redesigning The Big Issue has finally led Dave to writing about the love of his life, Leeds United. It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

The controversy surrounding Leeds United and Karen Carney has dominated the headlines over the last few days but there's another pundit who didn't escape the ire of Whites fans.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was also on the Amazon Prime show for the West Brom game and agreed with Carney's point that so offended the Leeds fans.

He's come in for flak as well but, in a big new development, he's found his escape plan.

Burton Albion announced on Friday that Hasselbaink is their new manager and that will obviously remove him from punditry duties.

That's something the Leeds fans are very, very happy about.

Some Leeds fans reacted sarcastically to the news, saying that as Hasselbaink seemingly knows how to manage a team better than Marcelo Bielsa, they should be seeing Burton in the Premier League before long.

Others just signalled their relief that he'll be moving from the TV studios to the dugout at Burton.

We think it's a bit harsh. Hasselbaink might not have been the best pundit around but he had a big slice of Leeds running through his veins.
