Isaac Schmidt granted permission for Leeds United medical after multi-million agreement

Isaac Schmidt has been permitted to undergo a medical with Leeds United, according to Ryan Taylor.

The Daily Mirror journalist reported via X (30 August) that historic Swiss outfit FC St. Gallen have granted the 24-year-old permission to undergo his medical ahead of a proposed move to Elland Road.

A deal reportedly worth £4.6million is in place, with the fee inclusive of performance-related add-ons.

Isaac Schmidt to sign for Leeds United from FC St. Gallen?

It looks set to be a busy day at Elland Road ahead of the transfer window slamming shut at 11 pm on Friday (30 August).

Daniel Farke will be keen to make some last-minute additions to his squad as he looks to get the Whites ready for another promotion push.

Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion last season. As a result, Farke will be keen to guide the club back to the Premier League during his second season in charge at Elland Road.

To do that, he will need a strong squad, and adding Schmidt to the ranks will certainly help with that.

A natural full-back, Schmidt can also operate further forward in the wide areas, and can even be deployed as a defensive midfielder.

Considering numerous high-profile players have departed the club this summer, bringing in a versatile player could prove incredibly useful for Farke.

While permission has been granted for a medical, time is against Leeds, and supporters will therefore hope a deal can be completed before the transfer window slams shut.
