How Leeds United really feel about Liam Delap transfer after latest development
Leeds United seem to have set their stance on signing Liam Delap from Chelsea.
The Whites have been heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old, who is coming off an underwhelming debut season at Stamford Bridge.
It wouldn't be surprising to see the Blues cash in on the English striker after he has failed to live up to expectations in SW6.
Daniel Farke could certainly do with a Delap-like addition at Elland Road before transfer deadline day.
Joel Piroe and Joe Gelhardt's departures have certainly opened up space for a new number nine at the West Yorkshire outfit.
Paraag Marathe and 49ers Enterprises have shown ambition this summer and it will be interesting to see whether they will splash the cash on someone like the Chelsea striker next.
What's now being said about Leeds United interest in Liam Delap
There has been plenty of speculation around Leeds being in the race to sign Delap, with Chelsea looking for £50million.
While the 49ers might be willing to spend a significant sum on a new number nine, committing to a striker coming off a poor season wouldn't make sense.
Delap indeed showed plenty of potential at Ipswich Town, and back in 2024, Kieran McKenna said, "You can see Delap is a different beast now to what he was in July."
However, the centre-forward's stock has gone down over the last year
According to the YEP on 20 August, there's no interest in Delap at Elland Road despite the recent rumours.
It looks like the West Yorkshire outfit won't be pursuing a deal for the young Englishman in the final days of the window.
Three areas Daniel Farke must still address this transfer window
Farke has shared his optimism over completing more deals at Leeds soon.
The Whites have already spent heavily on transfer fees and wages to sign the likes of Harry Wilson, Tarik Muharemovic and James Trafford.
There have also been plenty of departures this summer, leaving clear gaps in the West Yorkshire outfit's squad.
First, Farke needs a new number two to back up Trafford at Elland Road.
The Peacocks should also look to add cover for Gabriel Gudmundsson, who has had his fair share of fitness issues in recent months.
Then, another striker would certainly complete the German manager's squad in LS11, with fans anticipating an exciting season ahead.
