Eintracht Frankfurt are looking to ship right-back Aurelio Buta out in the near future to accommodate Leeds United man Rasmus Kristensen, according to Florian Plettenburg.

The Sky Sports journalist posted on his X account [19 July] to report that Kristensen's transfer to Germany is set to be completed on Friday, meaning Buta is surplus to requirements and will likely be moved on.

Kristensen will get his wish and make the move to the Bundesliga [Fabrizio Romano, 18 July], although details were not included on whether the deal will be a loan or permanent switch.

Kristensen leaving Leeds United again

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke is unlikely to lose too much sleep over the departure of Kristensen, given the Dane has not played a match under his stewardship.

When Farke arrived at Elland Road last summer, the full-back was on his way to Roma, where he played 31 games and scored once.

Frankfurt will compete in the Europa League this season, an added incentive for Kristensen who has represented several clubs in Europe throughout his career so far.

The move for the 27-year-old seems so far advanced that he could even travel with Eintracht [Hit Radio FFH, 18 July] on their pre-season trip to the USA.

Whilst Leeds have been in a process of trimming the squad and deciding what best to do with returning loanees such as Kristensen from last season, there is an increasingly pressing need to recruit in certain areas.
